SOY SESAME CRUSTED SALMON BOWL

A simple yet flavorful salmon recipe with a sweet and savory soy sesame glaze and a crispy sesame crust. Served over jasmine rice with fresh vegetables, it’s an easy meal that’s perfect for any night of the week

Ingredients
  

  • 6 tbsp soy sauce
  • 6 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 3 tsp ginger,, grated
  • 4 garlic cloves,, minced
  • 1 lb salmon fillet
  • sesame seeds
TOPPINGS
  • broccoli florets,, sautéed
  • carrots,, sautéed
  • cucumber slices
  • avocado

Method
 

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, ginger, and garlic.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry and place them in a shallow dish or ziplock bag.
  3. Pour 2-4 tbsp of the marinade over the salmon, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  4. Refrigerated for at least 15–30 minutes (or 2hrs to overnight for deeper flavor).
  5. Remove the salmon from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Coat with sesame seeds and sear in a pan over medium heat (sesame side down first) for 1–2 minutes.
  6. Transfer to a preheated oven and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes, or until cooked through.
  7. While the salmon cooks, pour the remaining marinade into a small saucepan and simmer over medium heat for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  8. Serve salmon with jasmine rice, preferred toppings and sauce.
